The Trade Mission of Kyrgyzstan in Uzbekistan, together with the Ministry of Agriculture, signed a contract for the export of potatoes to one of the retail chains of the neighboring republic. The Chamber of Commerce and Industry of the Kyrgyz Republic reported.
According to its data, the volume of monthly deliveries will be about 80 tons.
«Regular deliveries of the product will ensure the constant presence of Kyrgyz potatoes on the shelves of supermarkets in the Republic of Uzbekistan, responding to the growing demand for organic products from Kyrgyzstan,» the statement says.
The Chamber of Commerce and Industry noted that negotiations are ongoing with the same retail chain of Uzbekistan to expand the range of products.
«The plans include the export of drinking water, fish products, honey and dairy products, which will further strengthen the presence of Kyrgyz goods on the market of the Republic of Uzbekistan,» the Chamber of Commerce added.
