In 2024, the Ministry of Transport will purchase 453 units of equipment, including not only construction equipment, but also small equipment, as well as production plants. The First Deputy Minister of Transport of Kyrgyzstan Talantbek Soltobaev said at a briefing in Bishkek.
To date, the Ministry of Transport has about 1,500 units of special equipment at its disposal, most of which were purchased during the Soviet era. Over the past 30 years, the ministry has managed to purchase about 200-300 units of equipment, mainly using grants and loans.
In 2023, by decision of the Cabinet, 4.8 billion soms were allocated for a three-year period for the purchase of special equipment and machinery. Within the framework of this budget, 265 units of equipment were purchased in 2023. He noted that among them, 4 asphalt concrete plants and 10 crushing plants were purchased. At least 453 units of equipment will be purchased in 2024, including not only construction machines, but also small equipment and production units. In total, more than 700 units of equipment will be purchased as part of the modernization program. It is expected that this will help speed up road construction and improve the operational condition of roads.
«This equipment is still not enough, so we are planning further purchases at the expense of the road fund,» he concluded.
