Kyrgyzstan and Montenegro signed an agreement on exemption from visa requirements for holders of diplomatic and service passport. The Ministry of Foreign Affairs of Kyrgyzstan reports.
On September 26, 2024, on the margins of the 79th session of the UN General Assembly in New York, the Minister of Foreign Affairs of the Kyrgyz Republic Jeenbek Kulubaev held the meeting with the Deputy Prime Minister and Minister of Foreign Affairs of Montenegro Ervin Ibrahimovic.
He informed about the situation in Kyrgyzstan and in Central Asia, priority areas of the country’s domestic and international policy, especially in the field of combating climate change, security, and development of transport corridors.
Ervin Ibrahimovic shared information about Montenegro’s projects in the field of energy and tourism development in highlands, which can serve as an example for further development of relations between the two mountainous countries.
The parties agreed increase а political dialogue, trade and economic cooperation, discussed plans for holding political consultations and exchanging high-level visits.
They also agreed to closely cooperate within the framework of international organizations, including in the context of promoting Kyrgyzstan’s candidacy for non-permanent sit in the UN Security Council for 2027-2028.
Following the meeting, an agreement on exemption from visa requirements for holders of diplomatic and service passports was signed, which will make a positive contribution to the development of bilateral relations.
