The new 2024/25 school year has begun in educational institutions in Kyrgyzstan. The First Bell rang in schools today, September 2.
According to the Ministry of Education and Science, the first lesson for grades 1-4 will be held on the topic «Knowledge is Power», for grades 5-11 — on the topic «Founding Fathers of Modern Kyrgyz Statehood».
Schoolchildren will be told about the importance of education, the contribution of great people to the founding of the Kyrgyz Republic, the importance of the Kara-Kyrgyz Autonomous Region in the formation of modern Kyrgyz statehood and the celebration of the 100th anniversary in 2024.
In total, there are 2,377 schools in the republic (including 2,173 state and municipal and 204 private). About 1.5 million children attend them.
More than 126,000 first-graders are registered in the republic this year.
There are 93,000 teachers in the school education system, and there are more than a thousand vacancies.
