The Supreme Court of Kazakhstan has refused to consider the case on the wealth of former president Nursultan Nazarbayev. Nege.kz reports.
«The Cassation Board for the preliminary consideration of the petition of Kazakhstani Kayirgeldy Smagulov ruled that there are no grounds for further consideration of his claim aimed at collecting assets and property of Nursultan Nazarbayev in favor of the state,» the statement says.
The media outlet cites an excerpt from the Supreme Court’s ruling.
«Having studied the arguments of the petition, the judge believes that there are no grounds for reviewing the judicial acts,» the document says.
It is noted that this was Kayirgeldy Smagulov’s third attempt to achieve confiscation of the ex-president’s property in favor of the state through the courts.
