All unregistered mobile phones imported into the country before June 25 will be disconnected from the network of mobile communications providers on August 16. The press center of the State Committee for National Security of Kyrgyzstan (SCNS) reported.
The state committee recalled that the State System for Identification of Mobile Devices was introduced to protect against the use of counterfeit devices.
The State System for Identification of Mobile Devices is a comprehensive system designed to control the standards of devices with SIM card support imported into Kyrgyzstan, to ensure the payment of all fees for registration of mobile phones, customs duties and taxes.
Payment for the registration of mobile devices in the State System for Identification of Mobile Devices, customs duties and taxes is assigned to importers of phones. Further sales to individuals are carried out free of charge.
It is noted that an individual can import no more than two mobile devices per year for personal use free of charge.
Citizens who purchase devices outside the Kyrgyz Republic (for example, if the mobile phone was brought from abroad or ordered online on international marketplaces outside the country) must register it on the website www.imei.kg .
People who bought a mobile phone in the republic do not need to register it themselves. Before purchasing mobile devices, you should check whether they are registered by dialing *5656# on your phone, on the website www.imei.kg or through the applications of Beeline, Mega and O! mobile communications providers.
All devices of Kyrgyzstanis that were used before the launch of the State System for Identification of Mobile Devices (before June 25) are automatically added to the 'white list'. They will not be disconnected from the network.
According to Cabinet resolution No. 421, all unregistered mobile devices imported into the country before June 25 without supporting documents will be disconnected from the network of mobile communications providers on August 16.
