From January to April 2024, milk exports from Kyrgyzstan amounted to only 23,300 tons. The head of the department for implementing food solutions of the Ministry of Water Resources, Agriculture and Processing Industry Daniyar Zhanuzakov reported.
According to him, in January — April, milk production amounted to 431,000 tons, while consumption for four months reached 460,000 tons. Internal demand was met, including through carryover milk stocks from 2023.
Daniyar Zhanuzakov explained that such a small export is due to the fact that milk production decreased in March and April. According to him, this is an annual phenomenon, since livestock are driven out to pastures during this period and milk yield decreases.
