Health Minister of Kyrgyzstan gets vaccinated against COVID-19

Minister of Health of the Kyrgyz Republic Alymkadyr Beishenaliev was re-vaccinated against COVID-19. The ministry’s press center reported.

According to it, Alymkadyr Beishenaliev received Sinovac vaccine, which has been requalified by WHO.

«The COVID-19 situation in Kyrgyzstan is stable, but WHO urges everyone to wear masks and get vaccinated due to an increase in the number of cases in many countries. I have got vaccinated today and urge all Kyrgyzstanis to do so. We all need to realize that vaccination is one of the most effective methods of combating vaccine-preventable diseases, including COVID-19. Vaccination can protect against complications and significantly reduce the risk of contracting the virus,» the official noted.

To date, the country has 150,000 doses of Sinovac vaccine with an expiration date until June 2024. Delivery of 20,000 doses of Pfizer vaccine is expected in the first quarter.

«According to the Department of State Sanitary and Epidemiological Surveillance, weekly monitoring of the incidence of COVID-19 in the republic continues. From two to six cases per week are registered, the epidemiological situation is regarded as stable. Tests for COVID-19 are taken from among hospitalized patients with acute respiratory diseases if medically required; according to laboratory results, there was one positive case in a week,» the Ministry of Health added.
