Aisuluu Tynybekova was recognized as the best female wrestler in the world in 2023. The United World Wrestling (UWW) reports.
In the past year, the Kyrgyzstani returned to the top of the world rankings, gaining 95,575 points. The Kyrgyzstan’s athlete won the World Championships, the Asian Championships, ranking tournaments in Hungary and Egypt and won a bronze medal at the Asian Games in China.
«As crazy as it sounds, Tynybekova, at 30, turned back the clock in 2023 and had the best part of her career in those 12 months. The resurgent Kyrgyz star showed how motivated she is to return to top form during the two biggest competitions of the season — the World and Asian Championships,» the UWW said in a statement.
Aisuluu Tynybekova is one of the most titled athletes in Kyrgyzstan, the holder of several unique achievements. She won a silver at the 2020 Olympics in Tokyo, last year she won a silver medal in Ulaanbaatar at the Asian Wrestling Championships, and in 2023 she won gold in Astana, becoming a five-time title winner. Aisuluu Tynybekova was previously recognized as the best athlete in women’s wrestling in Asia.
