At least 148 requests from citizens and private organizations were received about violations in the field of personal data in 2023. Tursun Mambetakunova, head of the Department of Legislative Examination of Personal Data Protection of the State Agency for the Protection of Personal Data, announced at a press conference.
According to her, the complaints mostly concern online games.
«All appeals have been sent to the Ministry of Internal Affairs. Leakage of personal data is subject to liability under the Code of Administrative Offences. This is 200 calculated rates, that is, 20,000 soms. Only legal entities are held liable. Unfortunately, our fine for violation of personal data is small. We have already developed a project to increase fines and submitted it to the Presidential Executive Office, it is being considered,» Tursun Mambetakunova told.
