740,000 children do not go to kindergartens in Kyrgyzstan

First Deputy Chairman of the Cabinet of Ministers of Kyrgyzstan Adylbek Kasymaliev took part in the launch of a pilot project — Shoola kindergarten in the capital’s Kasym residential area. The press service of the Cabinet of Ministers reported.

As part of the project, innovative solutions have been introduced to increase coverage with preschool education.

According to the pilot project, pull-out beds will be used to maximize the efficiency of the usable space, which will create additional free space for games and activities while children are awake. This solution allows to efficiently use the limited space of the kindergarten. The initiative also stands out in that the children’s bedroom space is used not only for rest, but also for learning and play.

This made it possible to increase the number of children attending this kindergarten by 180 children.

«Today, there are 960,000 children from one to six years old in Kyrgyzstan. This means that about 740,000 children do not attend kindergarten. Only 26 percent of children are covered with preschool education. The implementation of this project will increase the republican coverage with preschool education to 40 percent,» Adylbek Kasymaliev said.

He noted that the project was implemented on the initiative of the president and was presented by the Social Partnership and Regional Development Fund with the active assistance of the Ministry of Education and Science.
