Kyrgyzstan receives UAVs to combat drug trafficking

Unmanned aerial vehicles (UAVs) were handed over to the State Service on Drug Control. Press service of the Ministry of Internal Affairs of Kyrgyzstan reported.

The Chief of the State Service on Drug Control Ulanbek Sultanov took part in a regional meeting of experts on UAVs and innovative technologies. The event included an exhibition of innovative equipment and a ceremony of handing over the equipment for the service.

«The use of UAVs in countering drug trafficking allows to promptly respond and monitor the growth of wild cannabis in mountainous terrain and make appropriate decisions,» Ulanbek Sultanov said.

The delegations familiarized themselves with the practical use of UAVs and innovative technologies in the field. In addition, a meeting with the Uzbek delegation was held. The parties discussed interaction in the sphere of prevention of the spread of new psychoactive substances, as well as medicines containing potent substances.
