The Department of Fisheries received modern computer equipment to create a unified information digital and graphical database of the aquaculture and fisheries sector of Kyrgyzstan. Press service of the Ministry of Agriculture reported.
According to it, the technical assistance was provided by the Food and Agriculture Organization of the United Nations (FAO) within the framework of Capacity Building for Sustainable Fisheries and Aquaculture Management in Central Asia, Azerbaijan and Turkey, FISHCap project.
The digital equipment is a unique surveying complex that can be used as a base station and as a mobile receiver. With its help it is possible to make measurements, transmit the data obtained about objects or sites to long distances.
It is noted that thanks to the received equipment, the geoportal of the Department of Fisheries will be updated with actual digital data on the number of fisheries and water bodies. This information will be available to state and local authorities, potential investors, legal entities and individuals, for example, to receive public services in the field of fisheries in digital format.
