Identification system for visually impaired developed in Innovation College

Valoa team of students from the AUCA Innovation College has developed a remote identification system in a mobile banking application for visually impaired people. Press service of the Ministry of Education and Science of Kyrgyzstan reported.

The system, using face and voice recognition technology, provides the ability to remotely identify a client without a visit to a bank branch.

According to the results of an independent vote, the team won the final of the student competition for social and commercial projects. It continues to improve the system to make it more accurate, reliable and user friendly.

The ministry noted that third-year students are implementing startups instead of a thesis work. «This pedagogical innovation allows students to apply knowledge and skills in practice to solve real problems. This requires not only the ability to think creatively, but also communication skills for exchanging ideas and work in a team,» the statement says.
