Bishkek will host an International Olympic Taekwondo Tournament for the prizes and medals of South Korean Olympic champion Moon Dae-Sung on June 10. The President of the Taekwondo Academy of Kyrgyzstan, Master of Sports and Honored Coach Ubaidula Tokhturbaev told at a press conference.
«This is the first visit of an athlete of such a high level to the republic in the history of domestic taekwondo. Athletes from all over Kyrgyzstan and guests from Kazakhstan and Uzbekistan will take part in the tournament. Competitions will be held among children, youths, cadets and juniors. Athletes will compete for 20 sets of medals. This significant event will have an impact on the image of our country in the world sports community,» he said.
An international workshop for coaches and athletes from Central Asia will be held on the eve of the tournament. Olympic champion in taekwondo 2004 in Athens Moon Dae-Sung will tell about the basics of training for sparring according to the rules of world taekwondo, the features of theoretical, general physical, special and technical-tactical training.
