Kyrgyzstan and Germany sign agreement for €4,500 million

The Ministry of Economy and Commerce of Kyrgyzstan hosted a ceremony of signing an agreement between the Cabinet of Ministers and the Government of Germany on financial cooperation. Press service of the ministry reported.

The document will reportedly make a significant contribution to reducing maternal and infant mortality, as well as improving the conditions and quality of medical care in Bishkek and the regions. The amount of assistance is €4,500 million. It is planned to use this money to complete existing and planned infrastructure projects, in particular, construction and equipping of perinatal centers in Bishkek, Osh and Talas, as well as equipping of the Bishkek TB Hospital.

The Minister of Economy and Commerce Daniyar Amangeldiev noted that Germany is one of the main development partners, which has implemented projects in the sectors of sustainable economic development and healthcare for 30 years of cooperation. Thanks to the support, projects have been implemented, the results of which are the creation of new jobs, ensuring the growth of incomes of the population, and improving the competitiveness of the economy of the Kyrgyz Republic.

In turn, Gabriela Guellil, on behalf of the German government, wished sustainable development and prosperity to the republic. She positively assessed the consistent activities and progress made in the field of transition to a green economy and noted that the healthcare sector is very important, and Germany’s contribution to the development of this sector meets current challenges.
