Former journalist of the National Television and Radio Broadcasting Corporation Kadyr Koshaliev, who previously interviewed the fugitive president of Kyrgyzstan Kurmanbek Bakiyev, temporarily resigned as head of the Council of Elders of the People’s Kurultai. He announced it on his Facebook page.
«In accordance with the regulations of the People’s Kurultai, a commission was created from among the delegates of the Kurultai and specialists to investigate the situation that arose around me. Until its completion, I temporarily transferred the powers of the Chairman of the Council of Elders to my deputy Beishenbek Abdrazakov,» he said.
The Chairman of the People’s Kurultai, Kadyrbek Koshaliev, interviewed Kurmanbek Bakiyev. The interview was published on a YouTube channel on May 16. The National Broadcasting Corporation is conducting an internal investigation based on the interview of its employee and chairman of the People’s Kurultai, Kadyrbek Koshaliev, with the fugitive president.
Residents of Talas demanded resignation of the head of People’s Kurultai. Participants of the April revolution held a rally in Bishkek and demanded to arrest Bakiyev.
