The Committee on Budget, Economic and Fiscal Policy of the Parliament of Kyrgyzstan got acquainted with the activities of Kara-Balta Distillery state enterprise. Press service of the Parliament reported.
Almaz Toktogulov, director of the State Agency for Control over the Production and Turnover of Ethyl Alcohol and Alcoholic Products, and Aman Ibraev, director of Kara-Balta Distillery state enterprise, presented information about the enterprise. The main activity is the production of alcohol. The enterprise processes wheat and beet molasses.
Deputy Dastan Bekeshev raised the issue of reducing the cost of alcohol, administrative and other expenses, the needs of the republic’s market. His colleague Sultanbai Aizhigitov told about the expansion of production capacity and demand. Representatives of the company replied that a phased expansion of production capacity is planned, adding that the cost of alcohol is affected by tariffs for electricity, gas, the cost of raw materials and other factors.
They noted that the issue of export of alcohol to Russia is being considered.
Deputy Aisarakan Abdibaeva asked about resumption of the activity and profit of the enterprise.
The director replied that the production process at Kara-Balta Distillery was resumed in September 2022 after seven years of idle time.
