Officers of the security services and the police of Kazakhstan detained a suspect in sending false reports about bombs in Pavlodar. It turned out to be a 14-year-old student of one of the local schools. Polisia.kz portal reports.
«It was found out that from February to April the student created accounts using new phone numbers, through which he sent false reports about an act of terrorism to the e-mails of educational facilities, and then deleted the accounts. A pre-trial investigation is underway under Article 273 of the Criminal Code of the Republic of Kazakhstan. The minor was released on bail,» the statement says.
The department does not specify whether the suspect was involved in sending similar messages to the e-mails of educational institutions in Kyrgyzstan during the same period.
On May 2, students of two schools — No. 33 and school-gymnasium No. 4 — were evacuated in Bishkek due to a report about a planted bomb.
On April 27, after a similar message, 28 educational institutions were cordoned off. Prior to this, there were two reports of allegedly planted explosive devices in schools, colleges, universities and shopping centers.
This is not the first hoax callers’ attack. Similar messages were received by educational institutions and shopping centers of the capital on March 22, January 20 and April 18. The organizers have not yet been found. Deputy Chairman of the State Committee for National Security Aibek Shamenov said that the accounts from which messages were sent are registered on the territory of Ukraine and Russia.
