Verdict was announced for 37-year-old Nargiza Aitmatova in Yekaterinburg (Russia), who tried to sell her own child on the Internet. Komsomolskaya Pravda reported.
The woman was found guilty under the article «Purchase and sale of a minor, who is materially or otherwise dependent on a person» of the Criminal Code of the Russian Federation.
«The Verkh-Isetsky court sentenced Nargiza Aitmatova to five years in prison,» the media outlet reports.
In 2022, the Kyrgyzstani, who tried to sell her son for 300,000 rubles because of debts, was detained in Yekaterinburg. A criminal case was opened against the woman, she was taken into custody. Nargiza Aitmatova explained her actions by her desire to provide a «better life» for her son. The seven-year-old boy was sent to an orphanage.
