The Pervomaisky District Court of Bishkek considered a preventive measure against two defendants in the Kempir-Abad case.
Preventive measure for activists Ulukbek Mamataev and Taalaibek Mademinov was changed to house arrest until June 20.
According to Ulukbek Mamataev, the court released him on the condition to stay at home.
«I recently had surgery. There is no opportunity to undergo rehabilitation in the remand center. That’s probably why I was placed under house arrest. The court set the condition that I should stay at home and not go out in the evening. We will continue to fight, we will prove our innocence. I think the president got the wrong information,» Ulukbek Mamataev said.
Taalaibek Mademinov did not comment on the change of the preventive measure.
The Committee for protection of Kempir-Abad reservoir was created on October 22. It includes activists, politicians and MPs. Mass arrests began on October 23. Authorities placed 27 people in jail on charges of preparing for riots.
