Construction of Orto-Tokoi small hydroelectric power plant (HPP) was estimated at almost $36 million. Data of the Kyrgyz Stock Exchange say with reference to meeting of shareholders of Chakan HPP.
Earlier it was reported that Nurlan Sadykov, General Director of Chakan HPP OJSC, and Zheng Hansong, Vice President of China National Heavy Machinery Corporation, signed a contract for the construction of the Orto-Tokoi small hydropower plant.
Construction of a small hydroelectric power plant with three hydroelectric units with a total capacity of 21 megawatts will make it possible to rationally use the country’s water resources. The station will be built on the pool of the reservoir with the same name.
«The Orto-Tokoi reservoir is the first reservoir in Kyrgyzstan, which is intended for seasonal regulation of the flow of Chu river and irrigation of 120,000 hectares of land. Operation of the Orto-Tokoi small HPP will be regulated in accordance with the irrigation regime of the reservoir,» the Ministry of Energy said earlier.
