Waste processing plant in Bishkek: Protocol signed with Czech company

The Czech consortium of companies HDT Impex s.r.o. and ReGreen s.r.o. will build a waste processing plant in Bishkek for $45 million. Honorary Consul of the Czech Republic in Kyrgyzstan Marat Dzhaanbaev announced at a press conference.

The ceremony of signing a protocol of intent for cooperation between the City Hall of the capital and the Czech consortium of companies HDT Impex s.r.o. and ReGreen s.r.o. and a roadmap for the implementation of a joint investment project for the construction of a waste processing complex took place in the municipality.

According to Marat Dzhaanbaev, the project implementation consists of three parts.

«The first is the development of a regulatory framework and adoption of a law on garbage. It must end by June 1. The second phase is the development of a feasibility study. The morphology of waste plays an important role here, because this project must first of all solve the issue of municipal waste from the population. Then there are other types of waste, such as construction waste, waste from hazardous production and medical facilities. By August 1, the operator undertakes to fully complete the feasibility study, on the basis of which an investment agreement will be concluded and the investor will be ready to invest in the construction of the waste processing plant,» he said.

The Honorary Consul of the Czech Republic in the Kyrgyz Republic stressed that they plan to conclude an investment agreement by October 15, which will kick-start the construction of the plant.
