Former president of Kyrgyzstan Almazbek Atambayev left for Dubai. His relatives told 24.kg news agency.
According to them, Almazbek Atambayev is accompanied by his son Kadyrbek.
«Almazbek Atambayev boarded Bishkek — Dubai plane at 6.34 a.m. today. Then he will go to Spain for treatment,» the relatives said.
The criminal case against the former president on the fact of the illegal release of the crime boss Aziz Batukaev was sent for review. The Supreme Court overturned the previous convictions. Almazbek Atambayev was also allowed to travel outside the country for treatment. He has been in custody since August 2019 (he was released for several days during the events in October 2020 and then detained again).
