Waste removal tariff increased in Bishkek

The Bishkek City Council has approved an increase in the tariff for the removal of solid household waste in the capital. The decision was made at its regular session.

Earlier, the City Hall developed a draft resolution of the Bishkek City Hall on increasing the tariff for the removal and disposal of municipal solid waste:

  • For the population — 41 soms per month per person (now 22.5 soms), for pensioners — 22.5 soms;
  • For economic entities, regardless of their form of ownership — 361 soms per cubic meter, or 2,430 soms per ton without VAT (now 225 soms per cubic meter);
  • For economic entities, regardless of the form of ownership, engaged in self-removal of solid waste — 445 soms per ton (without VAT) for services for the disposal of solid waste.

It was not announced when the tariff increase will take place. Vice Mayor of Bishkek Zhyrgalbek Shamyraliev, before the deputies voted for the resolution, asked to set a deadline — from February 1.
