Kyrgyzstan starts marking beer products

An excise stamp for beer products has been introduced in Kyrgyzstan since January 1, 2023. The Tax Service reported.

The decree of the Cabinet of Ministers introduced mandatory excise duty marking in the production and import of beer, packaged and loose, classified in the commodity heading TN VED 2203.

The circulation of unmarked leftovers of beer products is prohibited from July 1.

«The excise stamp for products is a confirmation of the legality of their origin and is intended to protect the population from the consumption of counterfeit goods,» the state service noted.

Since the beginning of the year, 30.8 million soms in excise tax on beer have been received, the plan for January was overfulfilled by 7 million soms. At least 12.6 million soms more were collected compared to January 2022.
