Green zones will appear in Bishkek, where only electric cars will move. Head of the Ministry of Natural Resources of Kyrgyzstan Dinara Kutmanova announced at a meeting of the parliamentary committee on agrarian policy, water resources, ecology and regional development.
According to her, the ministry has developed several measures to reduce air pollution in Bishkek. One of them is the introduction of green routes. $20 million will be spent on it.
«We received approval for a $20 million project to introduce green routes, lines and squares in Bishkek. That is we take London as example, where the movement of vehicles with internal combustion engines is prohibited in the green zone. Only taxis and electric buses run there. As part of the pilot project, we will import 200 electric cars for taxis and 100 minibuses. We will work out the route with the City Hall,» said Dinara Kutmanova.
She explained that it was planned to launch the project in the first quarter of 2023.
