Over 12,000 tons of fish produced in Kyrgyzstan since beginning of 2022

At least 12,373.5 tons of fish were produced in Kyrgyzstan for 10 months of 2022, which is 164 percent more than last year. Edil Niyazov, Director of the Fisheries Department of the Ministry of Agriculture, announced at a press conference in Bishkek.

«At least 27.9 million juvenile whitefish, carp and Issyk-Kul trout were released into the reservoirs of state fishery importance, which is 163.5 percent more compared to 10 months of last year. For the first time, 400,000 pelyad fish were brought to Son-Kul lake from Ust-Kamenogorsk. For the first time in 30 years, 4 million silver carp young fry have been brought and released into Toktogul reservoir,» he said.

According to Edil Niyazov, 310 tons of fish feed have been produced in the republic for ten months. Specialists of the department continue the fight against poaching. At least 76,603 soms were transferred to the country’s budget for violations of fishing rules, through lawsuits — 43,430 soms.
