More than 83,000 pensioners live in Bishkek

More than 83,000 pensioners live in Bishkek, 5,900 elderly citizens of them receive monthly monetary compensation in exchange for benefits — from 1,000 to 7,000 soms. Press service of the City Hall of the capital reported.

«Elderly residents of the city are provided with targeted social assistance in the form of payments, for which more than 47,200 soms were allocated from the city budget,» the statement says.

There are two institutions for the elderly in the city — the Bishkek Social and Stationary Institution for the elderly and people with disabilities. At least 32 million soms are annually allocated for its maintenance, and the City Rehabilitation Center for people with disabilities, for which more than 12 million soms are allocated.
