The court of Astana delivered a verdict against the nephew of the ex-president of Kazakhstan Nursultan Nazarbayev, Kairat Satybaldyuly. Tengrinews.kz reports.
According to the media outlet, Kairat Satybaldyuly was found guilty of abuse of office and embezzlement of funds of Kazakhtelecom JSC and Transport Service Center JSC on a large scale.
He was sentenced to six years in prison with confiscation of property and deprivation of the right to hold positions in the civil service and national companies for a period of 10 years. The judge ruled to serve the sentence in an institution of the penitentiary system of medium security.
By the court decision, the president was submitted a proposal to deprive Satybaldyuly of the rank of Major General of the national security agencies, as well as Kurmet and Parasat Orders.
