Kyrgyzstani Nurtilek Karypbaev brought the second medal to the team of Kyrgyzstan at the Islamic Solidarity Games. He won a bronze medal at the freestyle wrestling tournament.
The athlete competed in the weight category up to 86 kilograms. Nurtilek Karypbaev lost to an opponent from the team of Iran in the 1/8 finals.
In the fight for the third place, he defeated a representative of Algeria.
Another representative of the Kyrgyz Republic, Almaz Smanbekov, won a silver medal in freestyle wrestling.
The Islamic Solidarity Games are held for the fifth time. In 2021, due to the coronavirus pandemic, they were postponed to August 2022.
