Entrepreneurs with turnover less than 16 million to not use cash registers

The Cabinet of Ministers of Kyrgyzstan failed to convince and force representatives of the small and medium-sized business to use cash registers in their work. The business turnover threshold for use of cash registers will be increased twice — up to 16 million soms. The Minister of Economy and Commerce Daniyar Amangeldiev said on the air of Birinchi Radio.

He added that enterprises would pay a two percent tax only after the turnover exceeds 16 million soms.

Small stores, market sellers, beauty salons and other small businesses do not have that kind of turnover, he said, so they cannot exceed 16 million soms.

Rallies against mandatory use of cash registers continue for the past six months. More than 200 entrepreneurs came out to protest on June 13. After this rally Akylbek Japarov was forced to partially concede to business. He imposed a moratorium on installation of cash registers for ten days. Then the representatives of jewelry business held a rally. A working group of entrepreneurs and representatives of government agencies was formed. It should study all possible options for the introduction of cash registers in the country. As a result, the authorities made concessions to business again.
