President of Kyrgyzstan Sadyr Japarov met with the heads of delegations of the Parliamentary Assembly of Turkic Speaking Countries (TURKPA) in the city of Cholpon-Ata, Issyk-Kul region. Press service of the head of state reported.
The President of Kyrgyzstan stressed that the TURKPA, established in 2008, has become an important platform for inter-parliamentary interaction over the years of its work. It is here that parliament members discuss important issues, share information, exchange experience and best practices in priority areas of work. Kyrgyzstan is one of the founding states of the TURKPA and is interested in the formation of an inter-parliamentary association as a model for the manifestation of solidarity and unity of the countries.
Sadyr Japarov noted the importance of applying new approaches to solving problems, overcoming the challenges and threats of the new time.
«We have to update program documents, constantly work on their improvement. At the same time, we must understand that today’s profound transformations in the world give us a historical chance to rebuild our relations, fill them with new content, and put such primordial Turkic values as dignity and honor at the forefront,» the head of state stressed.
He noted that new relations in the Turkic space should become a model of interstate relations of the new time. The President added that building a renewed and prosperous Kyrgyzstan is the main goal for the country’s leadership. Therefore, priority attention will be paid to the economic development of the country, attracting high-quality investments in the most promising and interesting projects.
«Mutual support is more important today than ever in the transition to a sustainable model of independent development, and we will be glad to see more investors from Turkic countries in the country in order to improve our common well-being together. Kyrgyzstan is ready for fruitful work with the Turkic fraternal peoples on the basis of these unshakable values. Kyrgyzstan takes over the chairmanship of the TURKPA from Kazakhstan.
