The President of Kazakhstan offered Bishkek to draw up a list of promising investment projects. Press service of Akorda reports.
«Kassym-Jomart Tokayev called to intensify investment cooperation, proposing to study mutually beneficial proposals. One of them may be the joint construction of hydropower facilities in Kyrgyzstan, in particular Kambarata HPP-1,» the statement says.
In 2017, during his first visit to Bishkek, President of Uzbekistan Shavkat Mirziyoyev expressed Tashkent’s willingness to participate in the construction of Kambarata-1. Last year in Tashkent, the parties again raised the issue of joint operation of hydropower facilities.
Earlier, the Energy Minister Doskul Bekmurzaev said that negotiations over the construction of Kambarata-1 were underway not only with Uzbekistan, but also with Turkey, Russia, Kazakhstan and China.
