President of Kyrgyzstan Sadyr Japarov received the Chairman of the National Statistical Committee Baktybek Kudaibergenov. Press service of the President reported.
The current activities of the National Statistical Committee and preparations for the population and housing census were discussed.
The head of state stressed the great importance and scale of the upcoming event. He noted the importance of ensuring the safety of all participants in the context of the coronavirus pandemic and the confidentiality of personal data reported by the Kyrgyzstanis.
Baktybek Kudaibergenov said that the National Statistical Committee is fully prepared for the upcoming population and housing census. It is planned to be held from March 25 to April 3, and in remote areas of the republic — from April 23 to May 2. About 28,000 temporary census staff (coordinators, instructor-controllers and census takers) have already been hired, training seminars have been held. All financial issues related to the organization of the event have been resolved.
The population census will be for the first time held in an electronic format with the help of a mobile application, using a personal mobile phone or tablet of census takers.
To comply with the necessary epidemiological standards, the National Statistical Committee has developed an algorithm for conducting the population census during the pandemic. It has been agreed with the Ministry of Health. In addition, personal protective equipment was purchased: masks, protective shields, antibacterial means and non-contact thermometers.
Sadyr Japarov instructed to step up extensive information and preparatory work to effectively notify the population about the upcoming campaign. The Chairman of the National Statistical Committee and all the officials involved in this work were instructed not to leave the census process without attention even for a minute.
