The First Deputy Foreign Minister of Kyrgyzstan Nuran Niyazaliev called on the Kazakh side to publish verified and reliable information regarding the participation of foreigners in recent events in the country. Press service of the Foreign Affairs Ministry reported.
In connection with publication of a video about the detention of a Kyrgyzstani for alleged participation in mass riots, the Ambassador of Kazakhstan to Kyrgyzstan Rapil Zhoshybayev was invited to the Ministry of Foreign Affairs.
He was handed a note regarding the detention of Vikram Ruzakhunov, and was asked to provide access to the detainee and to release him as soon as possible.
The Ambassador of Kazakhstan said that the concern of the Kyrgyz side would be promptly brought to the attention of the leadership of the Ministry of Foreign Affairs of the Republic of Kazakhstan and promised to provide more detailed information in the near future. He assured that in the current difficult situation, the competent authorities of Kazakhstan will conduct a thorough investigation to clarify all the circumstances and reasons for the happened.
Nuran Niyazaliev, in turn, called on the Kazakh side to publish verified and reliable information regarding the participation of foreign citizens in the latest events in Kazakhstan.
A video was published recently, in which a man says that he came to Kazakhstan to participate in a rally in Almaty. The man was recognized as the head of a jazz orchestra from Bishkek Vikram Ruzakhunov. Earlier, one of the local Kazakh TV channels showed a story, when one of the detainees said that he came from Kyrgyzstan. The report says that some people called the Kyrgyzstani on January 1 and offered to participate in the rally for $ 200. The footage shows that there are traces of possible beating on the man’s face. The Ministry of Foreign Affairs and the Ministry of Internal Affairs of Kyrgyzstan are clarifying the details of the incident.
«We are sure that the detained Vikram Ruzakhunov and other our compatriots who found themselves in such a situation are the victims of the gruesome plans of the forces that provoked dramatic events in fraternal Kazakhstan,» the State Committee for National Security commented.
