Foundation for realization of citizens’ rights laid in Kyrgyzstan, President believes
President of Kyrgyzstan Sadyr Japarov addressed citizens on the occasion of the International Human Rights Day. Press service of the head of state reports.
The United Nations Organization adopted the Universal Declaration of Human Rights on December 10, 1948 which is the first international document listing the basic human rights and formulating the main principles of their protection. Their observance plays a decisive role in strengthening the democratic foundations of the state in the modern world.
Kyrgyzstan is an equal member of the world community, supporting initiatives related to the strengthening of civil liberties and protection of people from violence, ensuring decent living conditions for residents. The generally recognized principles and norms of international law, which have come into force in accordance with the legislation of Kyrgyzstan, are an integral part of our legal system.
«Today, we can no longer imagine our lives without democratic values, success in standing up for human and civil rights and freedoms. A reliable guarantee of these achievements is their further strengthening,» Sadyr Japarov believes.
He reminded that on May 5, 1993, having proclaimed the supreme value of a person, his rights and freedoms among the foundations of the constitutional system, Kyrgyzstan embarked on the path of further improvement of the rule of law. The basic law embodied the international experience and marked a new stage in the political and socio-economic development of the country.
At the same time, the head of state is sure that over the past year the leadership of Kyrgyzstan has taken new steps in this direction. A reliable foundation was laid for realization of economic and social rights of the country’s residents.
«This has become a priority task in the activities of all levels of government, as well as support for children, elimination of family dysfunction, and genuine care for citizens of retirement age. The further development of our country, in which every citizen, regardless of religion, gender, ethnicity, language and political views, is constitutionally guaranteed the provision and protection of their rights and freedoms, is the combined goal of all government bodies and local government of Kyrgyzstan,» the address says.
«The path to building a true society based on the rule of law cannot be called easy. Each of us must do everything possible to contribute to building a state with a stable economy and a perfect social policy. I am sure that through joint efforts we will be able to change the state of observance of rights and freedoms of citizens of Kyrgyzstan for the better,» Sadyr Japarov concluded.
