Chairman of the Cabinet of Ministers of Kyrgyzstan Akylbek Japarov voted at the polling station 1142 in Bishkek and answered questions from journalists.
In particular, the official was asked about the situation with Kumtor mine and enterprise.
According to Akylbek Japarov, Centerra Gold Inc. acknowledged that it no longer owns the Kumtor mine.
«However, the ‘divorce’ proceedings are not over. The Canadians have proposed their own format of negotiations and want to hold them before the new year. They offer to meet. I think such a meeting will take place after the elections. The first stage has been completed. We are waiting for the second and final round of negotiations. Most likely, we will put an end to the case,» the head of the Cabinet said.
He also commented on the work of the external manager of the mine Tengiz Bolturuk.
According to the head of the Cabinet of Ministers, Tengiz Bolturuk’s team is working effectively.
«We extract gold, taxes are paid. We expect a fairly large profit by the end of the year,» Akylbek Japarov said.
