A meeting-requiem in memory of 28 Panfilov heroes and their commander Major General Ivan Panfilov was held in Bishkek. At least 80 years have passed since their legendary feat, when, during hours-long battle, they destroyed 18 enemy tanks and stopped the fascist offensive.
According to the Russian House in Bishkek, the curator of youth and volunteer projects Baira Buvaeva, Deputy Chairman of the Council of Veterans of the capital Marat Kutanov, coordinator of Victory Volunteers movement Anastasia Shevchenko made their welcoming speeches.
The event took place on the territory of the school number 6. It has been named after Ivan Panfilov on November 27, 1941.
