Employees of transport control point detained for bribe

Officials of Kok-Talaa transport control point were detained in Batken region of Kyrgyzstan. Press center of the State Committee for National Security reported.

The investigation established that the detainees were engaged in a systematic extortion of money from the drivers of heavy vehicles.

«On November 13, the head of Batken territorial department of the Agency for Automobile, Water Transport, Weight and Dimension Control and the chief inspector of Kok-Talaa transport control point were detained while taking a bribe,» the statement says.

Both detainees were placed in the temporary detention facility of Kyzyl-Kiya Department of Internal Affairs. The investigation into the facts of corruption at the transport control point continues.
