The Russian-Kyrgyz Development Fund (RKDF) is working on two projects in the field of ecology. The Chairman of the Board of the Fund, Artem Novikov, said at a meeting of the International Business Mission of Russian companies.
According to him, RKDF is studying the prospects for introducing such a modern financing instrument as «green» bonds. The funds received for them can be directed to projects in the field of renewable energy sources. In addition, one of the possible projects in the field of ecology provides for the development of geothermal heating and phased switch of the capital’s residential areas to geothermal heating system. This will help relieve the citizens of the need to heat their houses with coal and will solve the problem of smog in the capital.
The cost of such heating in the future should not exceed the cost of purchase of coal.
«The second project envisages expanding the possibilities of using gas engine fuel throughout the republic. Implementation of this project will not only have a positive effect on the environment, but will also reduce the costs of car owners amid high gasoline prices. Implementation of these projects will take more than a year, but they are absolutely important for the country’s environmental sustainability,» Artem Novikov said.
