Leader of Ata Meken political party, Omurbek Tekebayev, commented on a scandal in the political organization and voluntary abandoning of the deputy seat by Almambet Shykmamatov.
According to him, he did not have any disagreements with Shykmamatov. «There was an intra-party agreement that he would give up his seat and would give way to a young candidate Nurbek Sydygaliev. But there were various obstacles, criminal prosecution of Shykmamatov himself. Work was underway to make way for Sydygaliev. These four did not withdraw from the party, but from the list of candidates. Initially, it was decided that Sydygaliev and Shykmamatov, since they are from the same district, will be deputies by turns,» Omurbek Tekebayev said.
Omurbek Tekebayev added: secretariat of the party did not receive any notice of withdrawal from Almambet Shykmamatov. «If it is received, we will refuse him. He is a part of the party, how can he be let go,» Omurbek Tekebayev said.
