Negligence of Kyrgyz officials hinders opening of MSU branch in Bishkek

Rector of the Lomonosov Moscow State University, President of the Russian Union of Rectors of Higher Education Institutions Viktor Sadovnichiy told today how he six times agreed to open a branch of the university in Kyrgyzstan.

Viktor Sadovnichiy noted that the plans were not fulfilled through no fault of Moscow.

«I agreed six times to open a branch of the Moscow State University and once even bought a ticket to leave for Bishkek. But there was no result. This is not Moscow’s fault,» said Viktor Sadovnichiy.

He addressed the Kyrgyz officials: «Colleagues, discuss this issue, and we, for our part, are ready to do everything. I give my consent for the seventh time.»

According to the head of the Moscow State University, such branches are already working in six countries.

The forum of rectors of higher education institutions of Kyrgyzstan and Russia «Development of Science and Education — Investment in the Future» is held today in Bishkek.
