Sentence of Chingiz Kondurbaev, who was accused of the death of Mrs. World Saniya Shakirova, was reduced. Lawyer Rustam Abduraufov told 24.kg news agency.
According to him, the decision was made by Issyk-Kul Regional Court.
«Under the new criminal law, the maximum punishment for such a crime is five years in prison. The court also reduced the amount of payment for moral damage from 2 million to 400,000 soms. Under the new Criminal Code, punishment for one crime absorbs another. In addition, moral damage per victim now is 100,000 soms. We will appeal the verdict in the Supreme Court,» said Rustam Abduraufov.
Recall, Mrs. World Saniya Shakirova died in a traffic accident. At the time of the accident, the 30-year-old driver of a car was drunk. The Issyk-Kul District Court sentenced Chingiz Kondurbaev to ten years in a penal settlement and payment of a moral damage in the amount of 2 million soms.
