Over 33,000 foreigners obtained electronic visas to Kyrgyzstan in 2018. The head of the Passport and Visa Department of the State Migration Service of Kyrgyzstan, Bakhtiyar Shakirov, said at a press conference.
According to him, people who enter the country with a short-term business visit obtain electronic visas.
“This partly confirms our investment activity. The second category of citizens, who receive visas, are tourists. It should be noted that foreigners can work in the Kyrgyz Republic only on the basis of a work permit. Last year, the Foreign Ministry has issued 552 work visas,” Bakhtiyar Shakirov said.
He noted that the republic had an agreement on visa-free regime with 45 states of the world.
