U.S. dollar repeatedly grows in price in Kyrgyzstan

Exchange rate of U.S dollar in Kyrgyzstan has repeatedly grown to 69.9 soms over the week in Kyrgyzstan.

Last week, the intervention of the National Bank gave results for the first time in two months. The dollar selling rate dropped to 69.8 soms. However, at the beginning of this week, the currency won back its position and returned to the mark of 69.9 som.

The dollar buying rate has also grown by 10 tyiyn. Today, the capital’s exchange offices and commercial banks buy the U.S. currency for 69.7-69.75 soms.

The nominal rate of the National Bank of the Kyrgyz Republic is 69,8256 soms (0.01 percent growth for a day).

To curb the growth of the dollar’s exchange rate in mid-January, the National Bank sold $ 18.8 million. In addition, it conducted 11 interventions in 2018. Totally, the bank bought $ 20,550 million, and sold $154,550 million. Net sales of dollars by the National Bank of Kyrgyzstan amounted to $ 134 million.
