One of 15 rescuers deployed by the Ministry of Emergency Situations of Kyrgyzstan drowned while searching for a missing teenager in Talas region. The information was confirmed by the President’s Plenipotentiary Representative in the region, Ermat Dzhumaev.
According to him, the volume of water in Talas River is high, with depths in some areas reaching several meters. Search operations will continue with the use of special equipment and with the participation of representatives of the Ministry of Emergency Situations and the Ministry of Internal Affairs.
Volunteers, activists, and other citizens have been asked not to participate in the search operation for safety reasons.
The search for the teenager, who was swept away by the current of Talas River, is ongoing in Talas region. More than 400 people, including police officers, rescuers, and local residents, have been involved in the search-and-rescue operation.
