The former Deputy Minister of Culture, Information and Tourism Farhad Bekmanbetov, who was previously dismissed for improper execution of his duties, was appointed a Director of the Kyrgyz State Circus named after Izibaev. Troupe leader Daniyar Bolokbaev told 24.kg news agency.
According to him, the artists oppose this appointment. They nominated woman gymnast Aida Akmatova for the post of director. But her candidacy was not supported.
On January 21, circus artists held a rally at the White House. Its participants said that the Ministry of Culture ignored their candidate, and the head of the ministry, Azamat Zhamankulov, wanted to appoint his protégé to the circus.
