The Bishkek Territorial Election Commission early terminated the powers of the deputy of the Bishkek City Council Korgonbai uulu Zhusupbek (Respublika-Ata Jurt faction). The Chairman of the Bishkek Territorial Election Commission, Kairat Mamatov, told 24.kg news agency.
According to him, the basis for the termination of powers was the fact that the deputy had the citizenship of the Russian Federation.
«The Election Commission received a letter from the Ministry of Justice of the Russian Federation. It says that Korgonbai uulu Zhusupbek obtained Russian citizenship in 2007. In July 2018, he filed information with the Migration Service Department of the Internal Affairs Ministry for Severnoye Izmaylovo district of Moscow about his second citizenship (Kyrgyz Republic). There is no information in the Ministry of Internal Affairs of Russia about renunciation of a citizenship of the Russian Federation by the deputy,» Kairat Mamatov told.
