Criminal case against Omurbek Babanov should be closed. The ex-president of Kyrgyzstan Almazbek Atambayev said during an interview with April television channel.
According to him, an examination did not prove calls for national hostility in the speech of Omurbek Babanov at a meeting with the residents of On-Adyr microdistrict in Osh city.
«This Omurbek Babanov himself proved after the elections. He could then take advantage of the situation and start riots. But he proved in practice what was more important for him,» said Almazbek Atambayev.
He added that Omurbek Babanov had nothing to do with Kanat Isaev’s case.
«His case must be closed. He trusted me, Sooronbai Jeenbekov. I feel uncomfortable now,» said the ex-president.
